Whats up my man? First and foremost I would like to thank everybody for taking the time to check out the limit kings' blog. Also I would like to thank everyone for wishing me well when I was sick in the hospital, right now I am feeling almost 100% and I am back at work. People ask me when am I going to write about what happens in the game now i.e. who wins, who loses, who goes on tilt easy, who is a busted ass, where do I find these maniacs and how do they call that particular hand. They also want the old stories of the Diamond Club, The Play Station, Quentin Rd.[Bkln], and some real memorable
games that I have worked or played at. After twelve years of this ,I know I have some great stories.I am going to tell them all. N.Y. poker is different in a lot of ways from say Atlantic City, Foxwoods, Vegas or anywhere for that matter. It's N.Y. city so there is no gaming commission to protect you when your a complete schmuck. I always smile when a pro comes into N.Y. to play, all that Vegas attitude gets real quite, they are not stupid they know not to get out of line. I have seen a self proclaimed bad boy of poker walk out of a club after folding to a 6 high in PLO and getting told that if he stayed longer they were going to open him up like a clam. I have seen a past main event W.S.O.P. champion get torn a new asshole for not wanting to post blinds in a rotation game. We seem to be a little more edgier than the rest of the poker world. N.Y. players are the most appreciative and generous of any players. We also lay claim to some of the best players in the world bar none, many great champions got there starts here. I was playing low limit ten years ago with people who are now what the public think of as superstars. Some were even chased out of N.Y. It was probably better for there health. You can find games of pretty much any limit, even higher than High Stakes on T.V. of course since the crackdown and robberies most of the big games are now super private and in apartments where people pay with checks at the end of the night. At one time you could walk in a joint that had ten tables going from 4-8 and 30-60 limit to 10-25 no limit ,those days are gone, it's just to dangerous. Right now a couple of tables under the radar is OK, only people we know or who come with somebody who vouches for them. All I spread was either 10-20 half kill or 20-40, my place had only space for two tables and I filled it up a lot of nights with a list. I know hundreds of poker players and don't always remember their names so with my gravely voice I always say Whats Up My Man! I would also like at this time to give a shout out and big THANK YOU to all my friends who came by and hung out with me at the hospital, the excellent team off surgeons at the Manhattan VA who unfortunately have no time to play poker and especially my partner Brooklyn for keeping the game going. Most importantly I would like to thank my family for putting up with my poker lifestyle and helping me get through the toughest time ever in my life. I love you all.
